We have always sought new opportunities to help others within the local community. Whether through donations or charitable events, we do try to stay involved with the community and with the causes that are important to us.
Imran Syed, Principal of Brandenburg Capital Strategies, Worldsource Securities Inc. founded the Pierre Despatie Memorial Tennis Tournament in 2003. This annual tournament has quickly become one of Ottawa’s most successful tournaments and is run to keep Pierre’s memory alive and to raise much needed funds for Search and Rescue Global 1 (SAR Global 1).
This tournament has become very successful, raising over $50,000 for Search and Rescue Global 1 (SAR Global 1).
In addition, Imran has been a consistent sponsor of the Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club and sponsored a number of local tennis tournaments and programs, including A Love of Tennis. This not-for-profit organization provides educational programs that promote life-enhancing values, character development, and healthy style choices through the sport of tennis.
